Morning presentations

Paul Harris

Get with the rhythm! How to incorporate secure rhythm into any pianist’s playing.

Paul, an expert on the topic, will talk about sight reading, with a particular focus on rhythm. This will tie in with his soon to be published new book “Play with rhythm!”

Andy Moorhouse

Alexander Technique – retraining the muscle memory

Alexander Technique is a way of retraining the muscle memory. As an Alexander Teacher, Andy does not teach how to ‘do’ anything but you may learn something potentially far more useful – how to ‘not do’ the things you don’t need! Andy will talk through Alexander’s main ideas of ‘inhibition’ and ‘direction’ and give a practical demonstation of their use in action. There will also be a chance to participate in some exercises.
